Thank you, Mike! I think you'd appreciate the tangible nature of the prayer rope, not as a replacement for the bell but as a good addition to your practice. I've certainly found it helpful.

I don’t yet have the chokti, but this morning I used a simple knotted rosary and discovered that two circuits of it with the Jesus Prayer was almost exactly 20 minutes. Which book on that prayer are you reading?

Wonderful to hear, Mike! The book I read is "The Jesus Prayer: The Ancient Desert Prayer that Tunes the Heart to God" by Frederica Mathewes-Green. I'd give it a mixed review, but it worth the time. The author reads the audio version and her voice is very calming which makes the read feel meditative. "The Way of the Pilgrim" is of course the classic text on the Jesus Prayer. I like Helen Bacovcin's translation.
